Reconnecting with your Roots
In the Native ways, it is an integral part to connect with your roots and integrate the inner wisdom and knowledge we all have. Many Native American retreats offer teachings to reflect the diverse cultural
expressions of tribal nations and the shared concepts of respect, nature, the
Four Directions, the Sacred Hoop, wellness, balance, and relation.
Sacred ceremony is reserved for Natives, though some variations and teachings are allowed to be shared with all who have an open heart and are willing to learn.
Native Americans find comfort and strength in their
culture and the Native ways. The traditions and ceremonies are to help heal the
wounds of the souls and return to the Sacred Hoop.
There are many wiseman and teachers who offer us their guidance for our own vision quest, helping us to restore our Sacred Hoop of life.
“…Make me wise so that I may understand the things you have taught my people.
Let me learn the lessons you have hidden in every leaf and rock. I seek strength
not to be greater than my brother, but to fight my greatest enemy—myself…”
(from
the
Great Spirit Prayer)
The residential retreats are a very powerful way to tap into higher energies, gaining invaluable insights into your life journey.
Upcoming Native American weekend retreats are scheduled for the Gold Coast in November 2011 and Perth in December 2011, with Nedhni Apache/ Cherokee Elder and Peace Ambassador, J. Reuben Silverbird.
